Hatchet 3 movie review (by Decker Shado)

Wiki Article

Hatchet 3 (2013) is the third film of horror of the Hatchet Series. It follows the continuing adventures of Victor Crowley and his murderous rampage through Honey Island Swamp in Louisiana. Kane Hodder plays Victor Crowley, Brian Quinn portrays Deputy Winslow, Rileah vanderbilt portrays Misty.

The movie's special effects are the film's greatest strengths. Unlike many modern horror movies which heavily rely on CG effects, Hatchet 3 features mostly realistic makeup effects and sets, resulting in some truly horrific moments throughout the film.

Kane Hodder is a standout among the cast and is a formidable villain. The dialogue is so funny and tongue-in cheek that it could feel like a classic '80s horror film. There are also some truly humorous moments that provide an entertaining contrast to the heart-wrenching violence.

Due to the small budget (1 million dollars) most of the locations are duplicates of earlier films. Hatchet 2's boat house was only used once and the remainder of the (click now to see websites) footage seems like it was reused from previous films. The Hatchet and Hatchet 2 films may feel like it's a familiar film.

Overall, I was impressed by Hatchet 3 even though it felt very similar to prior entries in this series--it offered lots of bloody thrills as well as some entertaining performances by the actors.
